NIGEB and Auckland University of New Zealand MOU on Biotechnology Research and Innovation

In summer of 2010, a delegation from the Auckland University visited the National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (NIGEB) in Iran. In response, NIGEB’s Dr. Amir Moussavi (Manager of International Scientific Collaboration), Dr. Kamahldin Haghbeen (Head of Biotechnology Basic Science Department), and Dr. Safa Fatemi (Manager of Biotechnology Incubator) visited Auckland University in November 2011. During their visit, they explored various departments including Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bioinformatics, Marine Research, and Agricultural Research, along with several active knowledge-based companies. This collaboration culminated in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at joint-training postgraduate students in Biological Science, Innovation Studies, and specialized courses in Biotech Marketing.
