"We are honored to host the first Iran-Tajikistan Scientific and Technological Conference, building on the National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology's history of collaboration with Tajik scientific institutions dating back to the early 1990s.  The purpose of this conference is to strengthen scientific and research contacts between faculty members, students, and particularly research students from both nations.  We hope that by broadening our collaboration, we can take a significant step toward boosting biotechnology and scientific progress in Iran and Tajikistan."

"Recently, Iran-Tajikistan ties have entered a new phase, with the signature of 23 cooperation agreements and a major growth in trade volume.  This joint conference provides an opportunity for Tajikistani technologists and institutions to learn about Iran's scientific and technological achievements, particularly in biotechnology and the development of novel and herbal treatments.  With over 8,000 medicinal plant species, domestic production of 97% of the country's pharmaceutical needs, and a leading regional position in biotechnology products, Iran is eager to expand cooperation and technology exchange to lay the groundwork for both countries' long-term growth and economic development."
